Between 30 and 40% of all highway collisions occur in intersections. Drivers must use all their skills – and reduce their speeds – at intersections.
In the city, look a full block ahead and watch traffic lights and slowing or stopped traffic. In the country, look a full mile ahead – especially at the next hill or curve.
Use your mirrors to track what is happening all-around you.
Never assume that a green light means GO and that it is safe to go through an intersection: there may be drivers in or entering the intersection because they did not stop for their own red light.
Be careful out there.
